The philosophy behind the Neil McGuigan brand is simple. At harvest capture the pure fruit characters of each varietal and then through stylish winemaking enhance the wines’ intensity and approachability. The statement on our Tier One by Neil McGuigan label encapsulates what we are all about: “Crafted – Authentic – Regionality. And the way we achieve this is through sustainable viticulture, varietal purity, and winemaking style”.
Like many winemakers of my generation who were involved in domestic wine show judging, we were lucky to be mentored by arguably some of the best palates and best wine businessmen the wine industry has ever seen. Striving for excellence, fruit purity, faultless wines but wines with personality was always the aim. With this as our mantra, those winemakers went back to their respective companies and helped create wines that were true to variety, clean, fresh, inviting, and marvellous drinks. With that as my background I have continued in the same vein with the Neil McGuigan ranges.
